10 BEST Anti Aging Cream for 50s and 60s [INCI Rank]

50 wrinkle cream rf

The analysis of the best anti aging cream for 50s and 60s is a work that really requires patience, as well as countless tests.

Reading the typical magazines about it, it is almost depressing.

I am almost 50, and apparently in the “full cell collapse of the skin” (thanks …), and in the opinion of many of these magazines I can only fill myself with SPF 50+ sunscreen and accept that my skin will become more wrinkled every day, because that’s how life is.

It is not exactly like that.

Today we will answer a series of questions, for example:

  • Which ingredients should I prefer for dry and sensitive skin?
  • Is it better to move towards a lifting or nourishing / moisturizing cream?
  • I am over 50 years old: is there a product that can REALLY lift wrinkles?
  • But in the end, what is the best anti aging cream for 50s and 60s?

I’ll tell you right away.

Not only you will always find the best anti aging creams for 50s and 60s (with a two-monthly upadate), but we’ll also analyse effectiveness and quality of the ingredients

Unlike what you’ll hear on TV, you won’t find unattainable promises or false hopes here.

We’ll try to find the best creams for YOUR needs, paying attention to the effectiveness of the anti aging properties and scientific quality of the ingredients.

Ps: if you have any doubts, requests or questions, (or even a criticism!) to share, write below in the comments! I will reply as soon as possible and maybe it will be useful for the many other readers!

Now enough chatter though. Let’s begin!

Best anti aging cream for 50s and best anti aging cream for 60s – [Updated]

Retinol anti aging cream for 50s

10. Pure Biology – Retinol Moisturizer

anti aging cream 50s pure-biologyPure Biology is a US cosmetic company that seeks to exploit the strength of plant active ingredients.

In fact, the whole formula is essentially based on vegetable essential oils, with proven properties.

We really find all that organic has been studied and appreciated the most. Shea Butter, Hyaluronic Acid (in saline form, such as sodium hyaluronate), Avocado extract, Black Tea and Argan extract.

For the high concentration, the focus in this cream should be made on Argan oil, Shea butter and Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil.

Argan oil has become a cosmetic staple for its ability to make the skin particularly soft and elastic even when applied topically. The composition of fatty acids and vitamin E in this substance confers moisturizing properties and the potential to improve skin hydration.

Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil has anti-inflammatory and emollient properties. The vitamins of the vitamin complex E and B present in this essential oil help in the repair of the skin and in the control of chapping (and consequent fine lines).

Shea butter is rich in antioxidants and vitamin E, which together counteract the action of free radicals and promote blood micro-circulation on the epidermis, and vitamin A, which has an anti-wrinkle and anti-aging action.

Finally the most important active ingredient of this cream. Retinol.

If we have never used retinol creams or have particularly sensitive skin, we pay attention. Retinol is very powerful and at the beginning it is better to apply it on the face twice a week at most. Let’s see how the skin reacts and then proceed!

Retinol is a derivative of vitamin A, i.e. it is an acid of this particular vitamin that is transformed into Retinoic acid by the body itself. In this form, retinol is essential for the skin itself. Retinoic acid, more simply called Retinol, in fact stimulates skin elasticity, collagen production, helps maintain a brighter complexion and regenerates melanin so as to counteract the production of dark spots.

Retinol is among the most effective ingredients against the appearance of wrinkles, in maintaining epidermal elasticity and in combating dark spots. But it is not suitable for sensitive skin, therefore it must be used carefully!

INGREDIENTS

Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Isopropyl Myristate, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Glycerin, Nannochloropsis Oculata Extract, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Pullulan, Oenothera biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Saccharomyces/Xylinum/Black Tea Ferment, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sodium Hyaluronate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Retinol (Vitamin A), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Fragrance, D-Panthenol (Vitamin B), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C), Xanthan Gum, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, DMDM Hydantoin

Conclusions

Pure biology is an anti-aging product made in the USA that I sincerely appreciate. A partially vegetable anti-wrinkle cream, with a strong antioxidant component and rich in vitamins.
The presence of retinol is excellent, but as we know it is also an aggressive substance on the most sensitive skin: we will have to understand if it is ok for our skin.
In conclusion, this cream will not be able to emulate the most synthetic lifting creams mentioned here, but I can guarantee it will be able to slightly smooth small wrinkles already in a few weeks.

Best “commercial” anti aging cream for 50s

9. Vichy – LiftActiv Supreme

anti aging cream 50s vichy-lifactiveLet’s move up one position and move on to a product that goes more specifically as an anti-aging cream for mature skin.

In particular, this could be one of the best moisturizer for over 50, given that it includes a very high concentration of Rhamnose, which according to several studies manages to deeply hydrate and (partially) slow down skin aging at the cellular level.

There is also a good concentration of retinol A, another excellent ingredient for fighting wrinkles on the face.

Retinol not only increase the cellular turnover rate of keratinocytes (cells on the outermost layer of our skin), keeping younger, plumper cells closer to the surface, but can also help exfoliate older keratinocytes at an increased rate, which helps to unclog pores and keeps your skin refreshed without the need for harsh friction.

As said before, just beware that Retinol could be quite difficult to manage for people with sensitive or dry skin. Pay attention to what percentage of retinol: 0.05% is a good place to start if you don’t have sensitive skin, which you can work up to stronger amounts over time.

The overall anti-aging effect is good, although studies related to Rhamnose are still quite limited because it has only been used for a very short time by now.

The texture is rich and creamy, but not greasy. Very fresh when worn on the skin. Similarly, hydration is excellent and lasts several hours.

INGREDIENTS

Aqua /Water/ Glycerin/ Dimethicone / Rhamnose / Isohexadecane / Alcohol Denat. / Propanediol / Isopropyl Isostearate / Vinyl Dimethicone/Methicone Silsesquioxane Crosspolymer / Cetyl Alcohol / Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer / Behenyl Alcohol / Nylon-12 / Peg-100 Stearate / Ci 77163 / Bismuth Oxychloride / Ci 77891 / Titanium Dioxide / Stearic Acid / Stearyl Alcohol / Arachidyl Alcohol / Cetearyl Alcohol / Cetearyl Glucoside / Caffeine/ Neohesperidindihydrochalcone / Palmitic Acid / Phenoxyethanol /Adenosine / Ammoniumpolyacryldimethyltauramide / Ammoniumpolyacryloyldimethyl Taurate / Disodiumstearoyl Glutamate / Disodium Edta / Caprylyl Glycol / Citric Acid / Synthetic Fluorphlogopite / Acrylamide/Sodiumacryloyldimethyltaurate Copolymer / Ethylhexylhydroxystearate / Polysorbate 80 / Parfum/ Fragrance.

Conclusions

In my opinion a great cream, one of the few that I appreciate among the more “commercial”. Vichy uses a patented ingredient (Rhamnose) to obtain good anti-aging results, which results in an actually smoother skin in a few weeks. This is not a lifting cream, but certainly a good moisturizer for over 50s. An excellent hydration and a premium cream packaging, at a reasonable price.

Best moisturizer for over 50s

8. EltaMD – Barrier Renewal Complex

Best moisturizer for over 50s eltamdElta MD skincare is a US-based dermatology company that recently joined the Colgate-Palmolive group headquartered in New York City.

Barrier Renewal Complex is a cream that I find perfect as an anti-wrinkle cream for more mature skin, because it is particularly focused on hydrating dry skin.

I find it excellent also the value for money, because it guarantees one of the deepest hydrations ever, compared to a reasonable price for the quality.

But let’s see it specifically.

This moisturizing cream for mature skin is one of the few that fully exploits the strength of the latest generation ceramides.

Ceramides are substances that regulate and guarantee the barrier function of the skin, preserving hydration, cell renewal and excellent maintenance of the balance of the stratum corneum.

Most skin disorders that present a reduction in the barrier function also have a decrease in the total content of ceramides and some differences in the pattern of distribution of the same in the layers of the skin.

Aging leads to a natural ceramides decrease in the skin. This is one of the main factors that causes skin to be drier in older people.

One of the most important functions of the ceramides is minimizing the evaporation of skin moisture, conserving water on the surface of the epidermis and thus avoiding dehydration.

This cream, as I said, really takes advantage of many ceramides. We find them all in high concentration in the list of ingredients.

In particular, one of the best known and most appreciated is the Ceramide NP. One of several types of ceramides, which are naturally occurring, long chains of lipids (fats) that are major components of skin’s outer layers. Research shows moisturizers containing ceramide NP can actually improve the look and feel of dry skin.

Another interesting Ceramide for mature skin is Ceramide 2 (which we find as Ceramide NS). This ceramide is used in cosmetics on its own for dry and mature skin. Helps prevent transepidermal water loss, maintains hydration and skin elasticity and prevents the entry of harmful substances.

Reading among the ingredients, then, we find numerous other quality additions.

Hyaluronic acid, for example, guarantees a strong moisturizing capacity.

But even more interesting is the high concentration of Niacinamide. Also known as vitamin B3, niacinamide or nicotinamide is actually a specific form of this vitamin, water soluble and not synthesized by the body.

The benefits of niacinamide are manifold: it strengthens the skin barrier, improves skin texture including acne marks, fights hyperpigmentation, minimizes fine wrinkles and red spots, promotes hydration, reduces inflammation and performs an action global anti-age.

INGREDIENTS

Purified Water, Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Niacinamide, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Dimethicone, Ceramide NP, Cholesterol, Ceramide EOS, Cetyl Alcohol, Ceramide NS, Ceteareth-25, Ceramide EOP, Caprooyl Sphingosine, Caprooyl Phytosphingosine, Ceramide AP, Hyaluronic Acid, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/ Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Xylitylglucoside, Squalane, Anhydroxylitol, PEG-7 Trimethylolpropane Coconut Ether, Polyisobutene, Piptadenia Colubrina Peel Extract, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract , Bromelain, Tocopherol, Xylitol, Ficin, Glutamine, Biotin, Proline, Behenic Acid, Carbomer, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Butylene Glycol, Benzyl Alcohol, Potassium Sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Hexadecanol, Sodium Bisulfite, Disodium EDTA.

Conclusions

We are talking about a really well formulated cream. Ideal for mature and dry skins, which seeks deep hydration and good anti-aging effects.
I penalize it a bit in the standings because of the limited lifting effect on the skin.
However, if the goal is to keep the skin hydrated, nourished and elastic for many years, we can truly consider this one of the best moisturizer for over 50s.

Best anti aging eye serum for 50s and over

7. Filorga – Optim-Eyes

Best anti aging eye serum-for 50s filorga optim eyesFilorga is a medical-cosmetic brand born in France in 1978.

Optim-Eyes is a serum – I tell you right away – really excellent. It amazed me as fresh and velvety eye contour cream. By now the best anti aging eye serum for 50s.

The texture is halfway between gel and cream, and it absorbs well in a few seconds. Ideal for all types of skin.

Among the ingredients, we note numerous moisturizers such as glycerin, prunus domestica, Sodium Hyaluronate and various plant extracts.

Also interesting is the presence of N-hydroxysuccinimide, an amide that according to various studies is able to stimulate the circulation of capillaries and reduce dark circles by 20%. Excellent therefore also to partially decrease our eyei dark circles.

The most interesting part, however, is also made up of the peptide component.

We find, dipeptide-2, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 and palmitoyl tripeptide-1. Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 modulates muscle contraction thus preventing the formation of lines and wrinkles which are caused by repeated movements.

Not only that, there are studies that seem to show that for the treatment of periocular bags dipeptide-2 and tetrapeptide-7 induce reabsorption of edema even over 30%.

The most precious, however, remains Palmitoyl tripeptide-1. Thanks to the very high chemical-physical analogy with Thrombospondin 1, regulatory glycoprotein present in the extracellular matrix, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 can activate a local growth factor known as Transforming Growth Factor Beta or TGF-Beta. The latter, by binding specific receptors present on the fibroblast, is able to induce their differentiation but above all to regulate the synthesis of collagen.

The fibroblasts thus activated can then synthesize and release new collagen, significantly improving the firming of the skin. This makes it an ideal anti aging eye serum for 50s and over.

INGREDIENTS

Aqua (Water, Eau), Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cyclopentasiloxane, C12-16 Alcohols, Peg-8, Polyacrylate-13, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Palmitic Acid, Prunus Domestica Seed Oil, Polyisobutene, Cyclohexasiloxane, Sucrose Palmitate, Parfum (Fragrance), Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Steareth-20, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Hesperidin Methyl Chalcone, Tetrasodium Edta, Glyceryl Linoleate, Tromethamine, Polysorbate 20, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Sorbitan Isostearate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Polyacrylate, Sodium Citrate, Chlorhexidine Digluconate, Glucose, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citric Acid, Potassium Sorbate, N-Hydroxysuccinimide, Potassium Chloride, Dipeptide-2, Tocopheryl Acetate, Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Sulfate, Glutamine, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Sodium Phosphate, Ascorbic Acid, Sodium Acetate, Tocopherol, Lysine Hcl, Arginine Hcl, Alanine, Histidine Hcl, Valine, Chrysin, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Leucine, Threonine, Isoleucine, Tryptophan, Phenylalanine, Tyrosine, Glycine, Polysorbate 80, Serine, Cystine, Cyanocobalamin, Glutathione, Asparagine, Aspartic Acid, Ornithine Hcl, Glutamic Acid, Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide, Proline, Biotin, Methionine, Taurine, Hydroxyproline, Glucosamine Hcl, Coenzyme A, Sodium Glucuronate, Thiamine Diphosphate, Retinyl Acetate, Inositol, Niacin, Niacinamide, Pyridoxine Hcl, Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin, Sodium Tocopheryl Phosphate, Thiamine Hcl, Folic Acid

Conclusions

An eye contour cream-serum ideal for both smooth wrinkles and reducing bags and dark circles. The antioxidant component is guaranteed by various antioxidant active ingredients, while the anti-aging one by peptides.
In short, it is undoubtedly one of the best, if not the best anti aging eye serum for 50s and over. It can be used both to prevent and to treat even deeper wrinkles. The results (over at least 1 month of application) could be really amazing.

Anti aging cream for 50s with solar filter

6. Estee Lauder – DayWear Multi-Protection SPF 15

anti aging cream 60s estee-daywear multiprotectionEstee Lauder Daywear is an excellent wrinkle cream, characterized by a strong nourishing component and an SPF15 protective filter.

I always remember: an essential condition for the skin to remains healthy is the constant protection from UVA / UVB rays.
Unfortunately, I am just as aware of how often we tend to overlook this advice. So the protective aspect in an anti-wrinkle cream becomes relevant.

Daywear focuses on this. To a decent sunscreen (SPF15) it combines active antioxidant and nutrient ingredients of effective scientific value.

We find first of all the always appreciated Shea Butter. This substance has been known for centuries for the nourishment and hydration capacity it gives to the skin. Not only that, because it has been used in India for centuries also for its emollient and healing properties.

Last but not least it has shielding properties against UV rays, but above all, it is rich in unsaponifiable substances that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.
There are now numerous studies that certify how it is able to effectively reduce wrinkles by counteracting cellular aging.

It’s just one of many antioxidant-key ingredients, including vitamins C, E and Eukarion (which is essentially an antioxidant).

The amount of plant extracts is another strong point, making it a true antioxidant-focused cream. To name just a few, we find extracts of Gentian Major, Wheat germ, Rice germ, Rosemary, Anemia, Caffeine, Lemon etc.

To mention them all would be excessive. I just say that the composition of this anti-wrinkle cream is really designed to meet the deepest needs of dry skin or that needs a boost to nourishment.

The fact that it has an SPF 15 protective factor inside, allows me to recommend it without a doubt as an excellent anti aging cream for 50s. Ideal as a day cream for those who have the bad habit of “forgetting” to protect the skin from UV rays!

INGREDIENTS

aqua, ethylhexyl salicylate, dimethicone, butylocty salicilate, butylene glycol, butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, poliester 8, cetyl ricinolaetae, stereath-21, stereath-2, di-c12-15 alkil fumarate, caprilic myristic stearic triglyceride, polysilicone 11, psdium guajava fruit extract, gentiana lutea root extract, polygonium cuspidatium root extract, stearyl alcohol, hordeum vulgare, laminaria ochroleuca extract, rosmarinus officinalis leaf extract, triticum vulgare germ extract, anemia extract, fumaria officinalis, caffeine, pentylene glycolo, citrus medica limonum fruit extract, hydrolized rice extract, lauryl peg-9 polydimethilsiloxyethil, thermus thermofillus ferment, behenyl alcohol, acrylic crosspolymer, triacontanyl pvp, glicerin, c12-15 alkyl benzoate, linolec aicd, cholesterol, sodium chloride, sodium pca, 1,2 hexanediol, urea, dipropilene glycol dibenzoate, tochoperyl acetate, tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, sodium hyaluronate, ergothioneine, ppg-15 stearyl benzoat, glycyrrhetinic acid, trehalose, polyquaternium 51, lecithin, hydrogenated, fumaric acid, cyclodextrin, fragrance, citric acid, ethylbisiminiomethylguaiacol manganese chloride, pentaerythryltera di-t- butyl hydroxycinnamate, disodium edta, sodium dehydroacetate, phenoxyethanol, butylphenyl methylpropional, hydroxyisohexyl-3 cyclohexene, benzyl salicitate, linalool, blue 1, yellow 5, chronium hydroxide green.

Conclusions

A day wrinkle cream that offers real value for money. The SPF 15 sun protection factor, on the one hand, weighs down the texture, but on the other, it is an extra safeguard against sun damage on the face.
Countless plant extracts, which make it a true antioxidant concentrate.
I find it an ideal anti-wrinkle cream to use during the day, especially for those with dry skin. The smoothing effect is not striking, but in the long term, it is a cream that really protects and nourishes the skin.

Anti aging cream for 50s: excellent value for money

5. Clarins – Extra Firming Lifting Cream

anti aging cream 50s clarins-extra-firmingAnother French brand known all over the world, Clarins with its “Extra Firming” line deserves to be mentioned among our best anti aging creams for 50s.

This firming day cream is designed to work on wrinkles from the inside, thanks to a formula that tries to stimulate collagen stimulation, alongside an excellent emollient and moisturizing capacity.

But let’s go in order.

When opening the box, we find substances mentioned, including the organic Harungana extract. Indeed, the Harungana leaf extract is present and is a substance known for its strong antioxidant power. It is able to reduce the appearance of bags and dark circles thanks to the stimulation of microcirculation, but it is also known as an active substance against free radicals.

To be honest, if we analyze the ingredients, we realize that the INCI is very rich in resources. All that we find as “leaf extract” is nothing but an essential oil extracted from the leaves of the specific plant.

I can’t stand to list them all, also because they are listed in the INCI that I report below.

However, I am pleased to mention the presence of Shea Butter, which is capable of protecting from UV rays and is rich in antioxidants such as vitamins A, E, F quercetin and epigallocatechin.

The presence of oat extract is also a rare addition. Oats include various soothing agents such as beta-glucan (5%), lipids (3-11%), including the barrier that repairs omega-3 and 6 fatty acids or phenolic and anti-inflammatory antioxidants (avenanthramides).

Finally, note the presence of sodium hyaluronate, i.e. the saline form of hyaluronic acid, a substance we have talked about for a long time and which thanks to its ability to bind 1000 times its weight in water is one of the best moisturizing substances ever.

Overall, a cream of absolute value, especially for those looking for an anti-wrinkle cream for 50s or 60s. The cream maintains a light and non-oily texture, however, in my opinion, it could be a little too rich for oily skin.

INGREDIENTS

Aqua/Water/Eau, Isononyl Isononanoate, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Dimethicone, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Tapioca Starch, Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Cetearyl Glucoside, Carbomer, Parfum/Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Disodium Edta, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Hydroxide, Tocopherol, Anigozanthos Flavidus Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Betaine, Sorbitol, Diospyros Mespiliformis Leaf Extract, Maltodextrin, Harungana leaf extract, Sanicula Europaea Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Kalanchoe Pinnata Leaf Extract, Balanites Roxburghii Seed Oil, Mitracarpus Scaber Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Citric Acid, Malpighia Emarginata (Acerola) Seed Extract, Lapsana Communis Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Furcellaria Lumbricalis Extract, Potassium Sorbate, Ci 15985/Yellow 6, Maris Sal/Sea Salt/Sel Marin [V3074a].

Conclusions

Clarins is actually a top price/quality wrinkle face cream, not only one of the best best anti aging cream for 50s. Rich in plant extracts, it appears to be a riot of vitamins like few others, with truly unique antioxidant capacity, excellent for fighting free radicals and environmental factors (including stress). The effects on wrinkles will not be long in coming, even if using vegetable extracts we will have to wait about 2/3 weeks for the first visible results.
The emollient and moisturizing component is also excellent, perfect for those suffering from dry skin. Given the particularly full-bodied texture, I do not recommend it to those of us suffering from oily skin.

Best anti aging serum for 50s

4. Elizabeth Arden – Youth Restoring Capsules

anti-aging-serum-50s-elizabeth-arden-ceramideElizabeth Arden’s anti-wrinkle face serum is another of the most popular luxury products of today.

Beyond the marketing that is naturally behind such a brand, the commitment to combine a high-end product with high-quality ingredients must be recognized

Ok, what’s so interesting about this anti-wrinkle serum?

First let’s focus on packaging. These are dozens of microcapsules to be used in a disposable way. This means that the ingredients are always kept to their full potential, up to the moment of use and without the risk of air oxidation of the active ingredients.

This is already a point to the advantage of this packaging to be deeply taken into account.

Personal note: I am sincerely in love with the design of this product. If we have to choose a cosmetic product to give away, this in my opinion is one of the best candidates for quality and refinement of details.

Let’s move on to the ingredients. Among the anti-wrinkle face serums, it is one of the ones I appreciate most.

This serum is essentially based on the use of ceramides. In a nutshell, ceramides are lipids that are naturally found in high concentrations in the highest layers of the skin. They make up over 50% of the composition of the skin.

They serve to hold the skin together by forming a protective layer that limits the loss of moisture and protects against damage caused by pollution and other environmental factors. Furthermore, ceramides, even more than retinol, niacinamide and peptides, are one of the best anti-aging ingredients for supporting the dynamic nature of the skin.

Since ceramides tend to wear out with advancing age, according to various studies, they are also useful to be applied topically through creams or serums, to reintegrate their presence in the dermis.

I would also add that this serum contains good concentrations of retinyl linoleate and retinyl palmitate, i.e. saline forms of Vitamin A, also called Retinol.
Retinol is a very powerful antioxidant, able both to protect the skin from free radicals and to act to balance the skin tone, promoting a brighter and brighter color.

I consider it a very high quality product, adaptable as anti-wrinkle cream 50 years and beyond. Indeed in some respects (especially in the ability to preserve the active ingredients), it is one of the best anti-wrinkle ever.

INGREDIENTS

Dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, squalene, cyclohexasiloxane, isostearic, acid, ceramide 1, ceramide 6 ii, borago officinalis seed oil, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, retinyl linoleate, retinyl palmitate, tocopherol, phytosphingosine, oleic acid, hexadecanolactone

Conclusions

In the end, I can’t say enough about the results of this serum. It includes lifting active ingredients (ceramides) and antioxidants (retinol and Tocopherol) which allows you to work both in the short and long term. Smoother, tighter and more uniform skin tones.
The capsules also preserve the active ingredients from air oxidation. In short, a quality brand not only “in the name”, but as a matter of fact, to be appreciated also in substance.

Best anti aging cream for 50s and 60s made in US

3. Drunk Elephant – Protini Polypeptide Cream

Drunk Elephant has always been one of my favorite skincare brands.

Completely made in the USA, Drunk Elephant pays enormous attention to the choice of its creams, both as regards the effectiveness and the quality and safety of the ingredients.

“Protini Polypeptide” is a very special cream, which exploits the presence of many peptides, to promote a powerful lifting and anti-aging effect.

In this cream, there are so many peptides that force me to treat the rest of the INCI only marginally. I limit myself to note that in the process the INCI is very good, with a note of merit on the high value of glycerin (moisturizer) and the interesting presence of Nymphaea Alba, a soothing agent used as an emollient / moisturizer on inflamed skin.

But the heart of the cream is, as we said, peptides.

The peptides within our body perform the function of messengers or circulate until they meet their receptor and, by binding to it, transmit a message to the nucleus of the cell which is activated to produce the required substance. (ex Collagen)

The peptides that I find most interesting and of which I have found concrete scientific bibliography are:

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, which stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid and native collagen.
Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1 which stimulates the synthesis of collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycans.

Finally, the presence of Copper Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-14 is truly precious. This copper peptide is in a special delivery capsule that has an affinity with the FGF fibroblast. Once released, it can target the matrix proteins (elastin, proteoglycans, laminin, fibronectin and collagens) by stimulating their production.

Sh-poypeptides are also very definitely an excellent addition, as they are able to perform many functions, including Stimulate the proliferation of dermal fibroblast, increase Collagen synthesis and boost both proliferation and migration of dermal keratinocytes.

Personally I have not found anything about studies related to Pygmy Waterlily Stem Cell Extract, so I can not imbalance regarding this part of the ingredients.

Overall, in any case, it is a truly rich INCI and truly able to make a large anti-aging contribution on any type of skin.

INGREDIENTS

Water/Aqua/Eau, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil, Bacillus/Soybean/ Folic Acid Ferment Extract, Nymphaea Alba Root Extract, sh-Oligopeptide-1, sh-Oligopeptide-2, sh-Polypeptide-1, sh-Polypeptide-9, sh-Polypeptide-11, Copper Palmitoyl Heptapeptide-14, Heptapeptide-15 Palmitate, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Alanine, Arginine, Glycine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Serine, Threonine, Valine, Acetyl Glutamine, Coconut Alkanes, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Aspartic Acid, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Lecithin, Butylene Glycol, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Sodium Lactate, Sodium PCA, PCA, Sorbitan Isostearate, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, Polysorbate 60, Lactic Acid/Glycolic Acid Copolymer, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Xanthan Gum, Isomalt, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopherol, Sodium Benzoate, Phenylpropanol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Symphytum Officinale Callus Culture Extract.

Conclusions

Elephant Protini is a wrinkle cream that really uses technologically advanced ingredients.
We find several antioxidants, moisturizing and nourishing extracts, but what makes the difference is the quantity and quality of the peptides. These are active ingredients that are truly capable of plump, firm, and restore bounce to skin’s appearance, helping to support skin’s natural self-renewal process.
In my opinion, a cream made in the US among the best ever.

Best anti aging / lifting serum for 50s and over

2. Lancome – Visionnaire Skin Corrector

anti aging serum 50s lancome-visionnaireVisionnaire by Lancome is a short-term lifting anti-wrinkle face serum, among the best known – and discussed – in the world.

It is a serum designed for special occasions. In fact, as we will see, the formula does not promote healthier skin, as much as a smoother and “plumped” skin in the very short term.
To be clear, it is a serum that creates a tightening effect the same evening we wear it.

It is probably the best anti aging eye serum for 50s, very adaptable also as anti-wrinkle serum 60 years old and over. Precisely designed to stretch the skin, especially in areas where wrinkles are more pronounced.

I’ll say it right away: even in this case we are talking about a product that doesn’t care about the “green” formula. Instead, INCI is rich in different silicones such as Cyclohexasiloxane and Dimethicone. As I always say, these substances are not harmful to humans, but bioaccumulative in the environment.

So the serum itself is not allergenic or harmful (it has no parabens, sulphates or phthalates), but it is certainly not eco-friendly.

However, the same silicones are useful for the function of the serum. Polysilicone-11, for example, is a cross-linked (a type of silicone) that acts as a film-forming agent. The film left on has water-binding properties and guarantees deep hydration which tends to give a filling effect on the skin.

Another welcome presence in this anti-wrinkle cream is that of Adenosine.

Adenosine is a molecule that can bind to receptors (called A2A) present in dermal fibroplasts. This adenosine – receptor bond stimulates collagen production, and at the same time reduces the degradation of collagen itself (which decreases in the skin by about 1% per year as it ages).

Since adenosine has been shown to stimulate collagen production, topical application can help prevent wrinkles, resulting in firmer and tighter skin.

Conclusions:

The “temporary effect” lifting serum I prefer, for a special moment or period. The combination of active ingredients is designed to give that lifting effect that many of us are looking for. It is not an effect that is destined to last since in my opinion there is no peptide or antioxidant component that protects the skin over time.
In short, it is the perfect serum to use in a period of stress to give brightness to the face and eliminate (not kidding) at least 5-10 years from the face. Probably not eco friendly, but certainly an effective product.

Best anti aging cream for 50s

1. Shiseido – Bio Performance LiftDynamic

best anti aging cream 50s shiseido-bio-performanceShiseido’s Bio Performance cream is an internationally known milestone. Shiseido is the best-known luxury brand in all of Asia, and the fact that some products have established both in Europe and in the USA is no accident.

It is a cream that I have known personally and I have also seen “working” on several different skins. And it has always given high satisfaction to all the users I have known.

Bio performance is designed to smooth out the fine lines resulting from expression wrinkles, as well as to replenish those areas where the skin appears more empty or sagging.

As always, however, I like to comb through the INCI. Seeing the positive results is not enough for me!

Analyzing the active ingredients, I noticed that the cream really has excellent combinations of moisturizers / plumping / antioxidants.

Let’s start with a good amount of glycerin present. Glycerin is a moisturizing substance naturally present in our skin. A super common, safe, effective and used molecule for over 50 years.

Creams with a high concentration of glycerin are excellent for the treatment of dry skin.

The active ingredients that characterize the cream are others and are mainly strong antioxidants. From tocopherol (tocopheryl acetate) that has emollient and antioxidant properties, to raspberry extract (Rubus Idaeus) rich in polyphenols including anthocyanins and ellagitannins that have antioxidant and elasticizing properties.

As someone would say, let’s move on to the “dark side” of the product.

It is without a doubt a cream based on a synthetic formula. Needless to expect not to find silicones or preservatives. The former is functional to the lifting botox-like effect that the cream gives.
The latter are present to ensure the functionality of the active ingredients over time.

Having said that, I recommend it without any doubt as the best anti aging cream for 50s and over, since it is specifically designed to smooth out already formed wrinkles. Of course, don’t expect “green” or organic ingredients!

Conclusions:

If I were looking for a 60-year-old anti-wrinkle cream or even a valid 70-year-old anti-wrinkle cream and beyond, I would not be scrupulous.
Shiseido Bio (to be clear, does not mean organic) is a lifting cream that simulates “the botox effect”, designed to plump and stretch the skin, without having too many problems on the ingredients used. I sincerely consider it one of the best anti aging cream for 50s, and for all of us looking for an effective and targeted anti-aging product against the most striking wrinkles.
